That is the bio from one of my favorite celebrities. She's accomplished. A wife. A mom. You would think that it would mean she has her sh*t together, knows what she's doing. But the transparency that she doesn't is exactly what we all need sometimes.

I have been writing since I was eight. The first story I wrote was about a cat owner and a dog owner falling in love and the animals learning to get along with one another. I remember taking a folder from my dad's office, the kind that had the metal prongs so you could put paper in the folders not just in the pockets and put my lined paper in there, wrote a title on the front and voila! I had my very first book.

Of course, I should have realized at age eight that I would never be a children's illustrator, because I am TERRIBLE. All the drawing and painting skills went straight to my younger sisters, skipping me. But I like to think that my writing abilities decided to go into overdrive to make up for it.

I hope to be traditionally published one day with whatever novel I finish and decide sucks the least so that an agent and editor and publishing house and hopefully one day believe in it enough to put it on the shelves of big box stores and independent booksellers alike.

But 18 years later I have no idea what I'm doing.
